Baseball Recap: Berea's Win Ends Five-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Berea took a 11-run loss the last time they faced off against Paris, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Pirates sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-8 victory over the Greyhounds on Wednesday. This was payback for the Pirates, who suffered an 11-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Ethan Slone was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Jackson Schill, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two RBI.

Berea's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-3. As for Paris, the loss snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-5 record.

Coming up, Berea will challenge Buckhorn at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Pirates are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Paris, they and Holmes will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Greyhounds will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: the Bulldogs will have lost six straight heading into Thursday's contest.
