Volleyball Recap: Veritas Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Veritas Christian Academy suffered their biggest defeat since August 25th on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to the Challenger Firebirds. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Firebirds apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-14, 25-16.

Leading Challenger to victory were Addison Jones and Yareli Saucedo-Garcia. Jones had nine digs, four aces, and two blocks, while Saucedo-Garcia had eight aces, four digs, and two blocks. Those two blocks gave Jones a new career-high.

Veritas Christian Academy dropped their record down to 5-4 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for Challenger, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-1.

Veritas Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Mountain View Christian Academy on the 19th. As for Challenger, they will square off against Pinnacle Classical Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
