Basketball Recap: Elysian Fields Takes a Loss

Elysian Fields was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 48-25 to the Gary Bobcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Yellowjackets have suffered since December 12, 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Elysian Fields lost, don't look at Brandon Kennedy. Despite the final result, he posted 20 points. Kennedy's evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Elysian Fields' defeat dropped their record down to 12-15. As for Gary, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 21-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Elysian Fields will square off against Timpson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Gary, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Gary Bobcats take on the Tenaha Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (Gary has won 12 straight at home, while Tenaha won six straight on the road), something that'll have to change.
