Howell won the last time they faced Salem and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Howell Highlanders walked away with a 51-39 victory over the Salem Rocks. Given the Highlanders' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Rocks are ranked 303rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Rocks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mitch Paspal, who went 5 of 8 to rack up 16 points and seven boards. Another player making a difference was Luke Creighton, who posted ten points.

Howell's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Salem, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Howell didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-41 loss against Brighton on the 7th. As for Salem, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 60-47 defeat against Northville on the 7th.
