Football Recap: Edgewater Piles Up the Points Against Lyman

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Edgewater). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Lyman Greyhounds 84-6. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five matchups by 35 points or more so far this season.

Bryce Jackson was a one-man wrecking crew as he rushed for 96 yards and one TD. Another player making a difference was Remy Jarman, who threw for 39 yards and three touchdowns.

Edgewater's run defense was locked in: Lyman could only muster -3.6 yards per carry. While five picked up at least two total tackles, Aiden Anderson stood above the rest. He picked up 0.5 sacks, forced one fumble, and made two total tackles (1.0 for loss). Edgewater didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 18.1.

Edgewater's defense didn't let Jayden Fleming, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for 4.5 sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as five different players picked up 0.5 apiece ( Jj Edwards, Durell Mitchell, Brian Porter, Gentry Wood, and Anderson also recorded half a sack). Lawrence Pipkin got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Edgewater's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points over those games. As for Lyman, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Edgewater has already played their next contest, a 28-21 victory against Winter Park on the 3rd. As for Lyman, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 51-6 defeat against Lake Howell on the 3rd.
