Basketball Recap: Port Washington Comes Up Short

Port Washington lost against Slinger back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Port Washington Pirates were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 69-68 to the Slinger Owls. While losing is never fun, the Pirates can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 178th, while the Owls are ranked eighth).

Port Washington's defeat dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Slinger, the win was the 13th in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-1.

Port Washington will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against East Meadow at 7:00 p.m. East Meadow knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Port Washington likes a good challenge. As for Slinger, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-42 victory against Oconomowoc on the 25th.
