Volleyball Game Preview: Battle Ground Academy Wildcats vs. Concord Christian Lions

The Battle Ground Academy Wildcats will face off against the Concord Christian Lions on Tuesday.

Battle Ground Academy is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Tennessee's top teams: Middle Tennessee Christian, who was ranked eighth at the time (Battle Ground Academy was ranked 24th). The Wildcats came up short against the Cougars on Thursday, falling 3-0. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wildcats have suffered since September 13th.

Battle Ground Academy took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-16, 25-22, 27-25.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Concord Christian walked away with it. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Fighting Irish on Saturday.

Concord Christian's win came from a few key players Battle Ground Academy will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Katelyn Stooksbury, who had 26 digs and four aces. Those 26 digs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Laynie Sanchez, who had 13 digs and three aces.

Battle Ground Academy's loss dropped their record down to 18-7. As for Concord Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-9 record this season.
