Soccer Recap: Mid-Carolina Comes Up Short

Mid-Carolina managed to keep up with Newberry until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Rebels came up short against the Bulldogs, falling 4-1. Having soared to a lofty eight goals in the game before, Mid-Carolina couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Marley Long, who's now up to 14 this season.

Mid-Carolina moved to 9-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Newberry, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-6-1 record this season.

Mid-Carolina didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 4-0 victory against Columbia on the 11th. As for Newberry, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Fox Creek at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
