Basketball Recap: John Ross Cardwell's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Todd County Central over Allen County-Scottsville

Todd County Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They fell 67-56 to the Allen County-Scottsville Patriots. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (55), the Rebels still had to take the loss.

Todd County Central's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was John Ross Cardwell, who shot 46% from the field to rack up 14 points along with seven boards and three steals. Cardwell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last five games he's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Jayden Glass, who posted seven points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Todd County Central's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Allen County-Scottsville, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-2.

Todd County Central didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 62-60 defeat against Fort Campbell on the 12th. As for Allen County-Scottsville, they will take on Henderson County at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
