Softball Recap: Northeast Vernon County Comes Up Short

Northeast Vernon County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They lost 18-3 to the Rich Hill Tigers. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.

Northeast Vernon County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dakota Thornton, who scored a run while going 1-for-1.

Northeast Vernon County's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Rich Hill, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-7.

Coincidentally, Northeast Vernon County and Rich Hill will both be playing Liberal the next time they take the field. The Tigers will head out to face the Bulldogs at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Knights will head out to face them at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
