Preview: Palmdale Falcons vs. Ramona Rams
The Palmdale Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Ramona Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Palmdale walked away with it. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 40-38 victory over Bellflower on Friday. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Palmdale can attribute much of their success to Clifton Chalk, who rushed for 148 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. Another player making a difference was Joseph Mason, who rushed for seven yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, after only ten points in their last matchup, Ramona made sure to put some points up on the board against San Gorgonio on Friday. Ramona simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat San Gorgonio 70-13 at home.
Ramona's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Jeremiah Acosta, who rushed for 88 yards and a touchdown on only five carries, and Sincere Tolbert, who rushed for 220 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.6 yards per carry. Peter Mesa also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Palmdale has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for Ramona, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
