Recap: Mid-Peninsula Dragons vs. El Primero Lobos

The Mid-Peninsula Dragons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their 12th straight defeat. They received a tough blow as they fell 60-45 to El Primero. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Mid-Peninsula in their matchups with El Primero: they've now lost five in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead El Primero to victory, but perhaps none more so than JOSH CHAVEZ, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 rebounds. CHAVEZ hasn't dropped below two steals for 18 straight games. Another player making a difference was KEVIN CHIQUETE, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Mid-Peninsula's loss was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-17. As for El Primero, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-17.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mid-Peninsula will take on North Valley Baptist at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for El Primero, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome East Palo Alto Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 8th. Hopefully El Primero focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Wednesday.
