Valley Christian had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Archbishop Riordan on Tuesday. The Warriors' pitchers stepped up to hand the Crusaders  an   11-0 shutout. Considering the Warriors have won seven games by more than five  runs this season, Tuesday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Quinten Marsh was a  major factor no matter where he played. He  kept things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box,  getting on base  in all four of his plate appearances with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI. That's the most  stolen bases  he has posted since back in March.
 In other batting news, Valley Christian got a big performance out of  Christian Navarez, who  went a perfect 3-for-3 with two  RBI and one  run. Those  three  hits gave  Navarez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was  Hunter Fujimoto, who  got on base  in two of his three plate appearances with two  stolen bases and two  runs.
 Valley Christian  always had someone on base and  finished the game having  posted an OBP of .564. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Archbishop Riordan only posted  an  OBP of  .130.
Valley Christian's win was  their fifth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 18-4-1. Those  road  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Archbishop Riordan, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost 12 of their last 15 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-14-1 record  this season.
 We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Valley Christian will  square off against  rival St. Ignatius College Preparatory  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday. The two teams have allowed few  runs on average (the Warriors 1.8, the Wildcats 2.3) so any  runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Archbishop Riordan is set to  take on  their familiar foe Bellarmine College Prep  at 4:00  p.m.  on Friday.
