Basketball Recap: North Pitt Sets Scoring Season-High Against West Craven

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Pitt). They breezed by the West Craven Eagles to the tune of 78-44 on Friday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

North Pitt's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Elisha Barrett led the charge by as he made all 5 shots he took to post 14 points and five assists. J'Khye Dixon was another key player, going 5 of 7 on his way to 13 points and three steals.

Barrett wasn't the only one working in the assists department: North Pitt was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

North Pitt's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-11. As for West Craven, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-8.

North Pitt has already played their next matchup (against Cape Fear Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. West Craven will be playing in front of their home fans against SouthWest Edgecombe at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
