Basketball Recap: Garden City Takes a Loss

If Garden City was feeling good fresh off their 77-37 takedown of Clarenceville last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Garden City Cougars fell just short of the Annapolis Cougars by a score of 75-72 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss Garden City has suffered since February 2, 2024.

Garden City's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Annapolis, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Garden City Cougars challenge the Melvindale Cardinals at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Annapolis, they will venture away from home to challenge Romulus at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Annapolis has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
