Football Recap: Saielle Howard Leads Inglewood's Defense on Friday

Inglewood fell victim to Redondo Union and their airtight defense on Friday. They took a 19-0 bruising from the Sea Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Sentinels can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 254th, while the Sea Hawks are ranked 28th).

Even if they lost, Inglewood's defense still kept up the pressure with 11 sacks. In fact, those sacks all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Saielle Howard.

Blair Nolen produced another solid effort throwing for 284 yards and three touchdowns while completing 74.1% of her passes for Redondo Union. Nolen is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as she's now passed for three or more in each of the last five games she's played. 92 of Nolen's passing yards were hauled in by Abby Luis.

Inglewood's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Redondo Union, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Inglewood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 30-8 loss against Torrance on the 30th. As for Redondo Union, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 40-7 win against Banning on the 30th.
