Basketball Game Preview: San Marcos Rattlers vs. Judson Rockets

San Marcos hasn't had much luck against Judson recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The San Marcos Rattlers will head out on the road to square off against the Judson Rockets at 7:00 p.m.

Last Tuesday, San Marcos came up short against East Central and fell 61-52. While losing is never fun, the Rattlers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 295th, while the Hornets are ranked 122nd).

Steele typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Judson proved too difficult a challenge. They snuck past the Knights with a 60-55 victory. That's two games straight that the Rockets have won by exactly five points.

Judson's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-15. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for San Marcos, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-16.

Things could have been worse for San Marcos, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 61-46 loss to Judson in their previous matchup on January 7th. Can San Marcos avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
