Football Recap: GV Christian Keeps White Pine's Under Pressure + How To Watch

GV Christian extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-3. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 22-18 heartbreaker at the hands of the White Pine Bobcats. The Guardians were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bobcats apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Even if they lost, GV Christian's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Ethan Cootware refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. GV Christian received some extra help from Nick Madsen, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

As for White Pine, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to yards per carry: they averaged an imposing 5.5 yards per carry in those games compared to only 1.97 in the others.

Maddox Sedlacek was his usual excellent self, rushing for 146 yards and one score on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 180 yards and one TD. Those 146 rushing yards gave him a new career-high. 142 of Sedlacek's passing yards were hauled in by Chayce Trujillo.

GV Christian has already played their next matchup, a 42-6 loss against Lincoln County on the 3rd. As for White Pine, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 42-0 defeat against Lake Mead Christian Academy on the 2nd.
