The Arrowhead Christian Eagles will take on the Centennial Huskies in a tournament on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Arrowhead Christian's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Loma Linda Academy with a sharp 11-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.
Josiah Corona looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Nate Ondatje was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Graham Griffiths, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last contest, Centennial made sure to put some runs up on the board against Great Oak on Tuesday. The Huskies were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Wolfpack. The Huskies not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 24, 2025 (when they won 16-3).
Jacob Torres looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Aiden Simpson, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March of 2025. Ethan Miller was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.
Centennial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Great Oak only posted an OBP of .292.
Arrowhead Christian now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Centennial, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Arrowhead Christian skirted past Centennial 4-3 in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Huskies turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
