Baseball Recap: Walt Whitman Comes Up Short

Walt Whitman was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 8-7 heartbreaker at the hands of the Longwood Lions. That's two games in a row now that the Wildcats have lost by just one run.

Walt Whitman's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Longwood, their win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-0.

While Walt Whitman had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
