Softball Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Jefferson lost against Canutillo back in March, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Silver Foxes came up short against the Eagles, falling 21-4. The Silver Foxes' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

Elizabella Qui?onez and Luz Ayala did some serious damage despite the final result: Qui?onez scored a run while going 2-for-2, while Ayala scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 12-18. As for Canutillo, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-9-1 record this season.

Jefferson will head out on the road to square off against Andress at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Silver Foxes are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for Canutillo, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against El Paso at 6:00 p.m. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
