Football Recap: Winchester Community Comes Up Short

Winchester Community came into their game on Friday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They were dealt a 35-7 defeat at the hands of the Northeastern Knights. The Golden Falcons lost against the Knights in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 19-15 score last time.

Despite the loss, Winchester Community still got an impressive performance from Aidan Weatherhead, who rushed for 125 yards.

Northeastern was led to victory by Trent Deloney and Caden Retter. Deloney gained 188 total yards and two touchdowns, while Retter picked up 133 receiving yards and one score. Retter didn't just play on offense: he also picked up a sack and made one tackle.

Having lost for the first time this season, Winchester Community fell to 2-1. As for Northeastern, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
