Softball Game Preview: Mountain View Christian Saints vs. Beatty Hornets

The Mountain View Christian Saints will venture away from home to face off against the Beatty Hornets at 1:00 p.m. on Monday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Friday just wasn't the day for Mountain View Christian's offense. They came up short against Pahranagat Valley last Friday, falling 15-0. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Beatty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They lost 18-0 to Pahranagat Valley.

Mountain View Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Beatty, their loss dropped their record down to 0-8.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Mountain View Christian has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Beatty struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Everything went Mountain View Christian's way against Beatty when the teams last played back in March of 2023, as Mountain View Christian made off with a 30-15 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Saints since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
