Kyree Christian leads a balanced attack to beat Cane Ridge

It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Overton Bobcats ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 68-66 victory over Cane Ridge. The victory was familiar territory for Overton who now have three in a row.

Overton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kyree Christian, who scored 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of William Carter, who scored 22 points.

When it comes to explaining why Cane Ridge lost, one person who can't be blamed is Da'ron Hall. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 17 points and 18 rebounds. Hall scored a full 25.8% of Cane Ridge's points, the sixth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Avyion Mccleton, who scored 12 points along with five assists.

Overton is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-2 record this season. As for Cane Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Overton will take on Hillsboro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cane Ridge, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Antioch at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. Antioch is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road.
