Baseball Recap: Fort Meade's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Fort Meade had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They beat the Lakeland Dreadnaughts by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 7-5. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-3 back in February.

Fort Meade saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew Pheiffer, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another was Eli Harrell, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Fort Meade's record now sits at 11-4. As for Lakeland, they moved to 9-6 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Fort Meade and Lakeland could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. Fort Meade (ranked 121st) will meet Santa Fe Catholic (ranked 25th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Similarly, Lakeland will challenge Bozeman at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 166 places (183 vs. 17).
