Softball Recap: Durham School of the Arts Bulldogs vs. Carrboro Jaguars
Durham School of the Arts extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 30 on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 0-14 in the process. They came up short against the Carrboro Jaguars, falling 21-5. If the Bulldogs were looking for revenge after losing 18-0 to the Jaguars when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Durham School of the Arts saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aset Fields, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one triple. Aniah Satterfield was another, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with two runs.
As for Carrboro, their victory bumped their record up to 9-4. The result was nothing new for the Jaguars, who have now won seven matchups by ten runs or more so far this season.
On Carrboro's side, Lauren Curry and Jaida Jakubiak did most of the damage at the plate: Curry went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and three runs, while Jakubiak got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs. Another player making a difference was Avery Lackland, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Looking ahead, Durham School of the Arts will challenge Granville Central at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Carrboro will be paying especially close attention to the Bulldogs' game: after the Bulldogs face off against the Panthers, they'll take on Carrboro again at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
