Coventry has gone 7-1 against St. Mary Academy-Bay View recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Oakers will head out on the road to take on the Bengals at 12:00 p.m. Coventry is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
Coventry barely beat Cumberland the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Oakers blew past the Clippers 13-2 on Tuesday. The Oakers haven't had any issues with the Clippers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Mary Mcgovern made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Mcgovern was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Leah Lapham, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in May of 2024. Emily Spadoni was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Coventry kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, St. Mary Academy-Bay View faced East Providence in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Bengals lost 19-9 to the Townies. On the bright side, the nine- run effort marked the Bengals' highest-scoring matchup to date.
Frankie Arnold and Qiana Sumner did some serious damage despite the final result: Arnold went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Sumner went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those stolen bases were Sumner's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlin Pierce, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
St. Mary Academy-Bay View is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. As for Coventry, their record is now 3-1.

Coventry took their win against St. Mary Academy-Bay View when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 7-1 score.
