Salisbury has gone 9-1 against Lexington recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. It'll be a Battle of the Bugs the Salisbury Hornets challenge the Lexington Yellowjackets at 6:00 p.m. Salisbury is coming into the game hot, having won their last three games.

Last Tuesday, Salisbury strolled past East Davidson with points to spare, taking the game 53-35.

Meanwhile, Lexington didn't have too much trouble with West Davidson on Tuesday as they won 54-37. Given the Yellowjackets' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 148th, while the Dragons are ranked 333rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Lexington's win came from a few key players Salisbury will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Maliyah Johnson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points. Lily Ervin was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 11 boards.

Lexington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in three consecutive matches.

Lexington has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.2 points per game. As for Salisbury, their record now sits at 11-7.

Salisbury came up short against Lexington in their previous meeting back in January, falling 62-56. Can Salisbury avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
