Basketball Game Preview: Mt. Zion Braves vs. Lincoln Railsplitters

Mt. Zion hasn't had much luck against Lincoln recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Mt. Zion Braves will be playing at home against the Lincoln Railsplitters at 5:30 p.m.

Mt. Zion came up short against Springfield on Thursday, falling 52-29. The match marked the Braves' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Lincoln against Leyden on Monday as the team secured a 62-32 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Railsplitters.

Mt. Zion better keep an eye on Makinley Knapp. She was instrumental in Lincoln's win, going 6 for 8 en route to 16 points along with five boards and three steals. The contest was Knapp's third in a row with at least ten points. Piper Whiteman was another key player, going 5 of 10 on her way to 12 points.

Mt. Zion's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Lincoln, they now have a winning record of 10-9.

Mt. Zion was taken down by Lincoln 73-43 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Mt. Zion was down 49-29.
