It's playoff time, and Clarion Area had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Elk County Catholic Crusaders on Friday, sneaking past 2-1. The win was familiar territory for the Bobcats, who have now won five matchups in a row.

Clarion Area's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dylan Smail, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.

Clarion Area's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Elk County Catholic, their loss ended a nine-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-4.

As of now, neither Clarion Area nor the Crusaders have any future games scheduled.
