After a string of three wins, Red Mesa's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They lost to the Valley Pirates at home by a 59-42 margin. The Redskins lost against the Pirates in their previous head to head back in November of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 76-29 score last time.

Red Mesa lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Shyla Pipkin, who posted six points in addition to 15 boards and five assists. Another player making a difference was Ashley Jones, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Red Mesa's loss dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Valley, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Red Mesa will face off against Rough Rock at 4:00 p.m. on January 14th. As for Valley, they will take on Joseph City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
