Baseball Recap: Comstock Wins Going Away Against Lawrence

While Comstock put up plenty of runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Lawrence. The Colts put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 15-0 win. The Colts have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Tigers, too.

Dom Narwick made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted five strikeouts, the most he's had over his last six matches. He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. Comstock is undefeated when Narwick posts two or more runs, but 1-13 otherwise.

In other batting news, Comstock got a massive performance out of Wyatt Wilkins, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three runs gave Wilkins a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Billy Smith, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

Comstock was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lawrence only posted a batting average of .167.

The victory made it two in a row for Comstock and bumps their season record up to 4-13. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Lawrence, they dropped their record down to 3-20 with the loss, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Comstock beat the Tigers by a score of 13-3 later that day.
