Softball Recap: Kalani Has No Trouble Against Kaimuki

Kalani never let their opponents score on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Kaimuki Bulldogs. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

The team relied heavily on Layna Faria, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Samantha Morinaga was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-3.

Kalani was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .409. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kaimuki only posted a batting average of .077.

Kalani now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Kaimuki, they are on a 12-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Coincidentally, Kalani and Kaimuki will both be playing Castle the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will head out to face the Knights at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Falcons will host them at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.
