Basketball Game Preview: Butner Eagles vs. Calvin Bulldogs

The Butner Eagles will take on the Calvin Bulldogs at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 65-14, which was the final score in Butner's tilt against Dewar on Monday. The Eagles have struggled against the Dragons recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, Calvin had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three back in December of 2024. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, they made off with a 35-34 win over the Bison. While the Bulldogs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-19), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Calvin's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Butner, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
