Veterans proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Lowndes Vikings 2-1. That's more bragging rights for the Warhawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Veterans was actually outscored in aggregate across those three sets (62-60), but they still managed to win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 26-24, 15-13.

Veterans can attribute much of their success to Piper Seaman, who had 11 digs and three aces.

Seaman wasn't the only good server: Veterans was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 12 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least ten aces in five consecutive games dating back to last season.

Veterans' victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Lowndes, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Coincidentally, Veterans and Lowndes will both be playing Northside the next time they take the court. The Vikings will head out to face the Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Warhawks will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
