Volleyball Recap: Alexandria City Comes Up Short on the Road Against West Springfield + How To Watch

Alexandria City had to start their season on the road on Tuesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against the West Springfield Spartans, falling 3-0. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Spartans recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Alexandria City took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-12, 25-18, 25-19.

West Springfield got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Anna Dierks out in front who hit 100% for five kills and seven aces and four digs. Dierks has been hot for a while, having also posted 14 or more assists the last 18 times she's played.

Looking ahead, Alexandria City will square off against Decatur at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday. As for West Springfield, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against George C. Marshall on the 27th.
