Baseball Recap: Manatee Has No Trouble Against South Fort Myers

Manatee won the last time they faced South Fort Myers and things went their way on Friday too. The Manatee Hurricanes blew past the South Fort Myers Wolfpack 8-2. Considering the Hurricanes have won three games by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Nick Zunica was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Gus Eylar, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Manatee's record now sits at 6-3. As for South Fort Myers, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Coming up, Manatee will take on Maryville in a tournament on Tuesday. Maryville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season. As for South Fort Myers, they are taking a road trip to face off against Canterbury at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Canterbury's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so South Fort Myers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
