Softball Recap: Taylor Takes a Loss

Taylor extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 23 on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 0-18 in the process. They came up short against the Tri-Central Trojans, falling 13-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-2 on May 6th.

As for Tri-Central, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-12 record. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Tri-Central's part, Bella Stewart made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Those seven strikeouts gave Stewart a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Logan Creason was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one triple. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Addy Mackey was another key player, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, one run, and one double.

Taylor has already played their next game (against Eastbrook), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Tri-Central, they have also already played their next contest, an 8-7 victory against Elwood on the 23rd.
