Softball Game Preview: Wayne Eagles vs. Midlakes Screaming Eagles

The Wayne Eagles will head out to square off against the Midlakes Screaming Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Wayne has given up an average of 7.4 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Wayne lost 11-4 to Waterloo on Tuesday.

Wayne saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Savannah Celso, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Midlakes was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Mynderse Academy, falling 18-0. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Screaming Eagles were not able to get on the board.

Wayne's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Midlakes, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.

Wayne got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April against Midlakes by a conclusive 14-6 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
