Volleyball Recap: Beaumont School Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Beaumont School can now relate to. They came up short against the Marlington Dukes on Wednesday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Blue Streaks of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in September of 2024.

Beaumont School was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-23, 25-15.

Maryclare Holzheimer paced Beaumont School's offense, picking up eight kills. Holzheimer got some help from Nicole Barney and her 13 assists.

Marlington's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Amiiah Sickles led the charge by getting 13 digs and one assist.

Beaumont School moved to 8-18 with that defeat, which also ended their three-match winning streak. As for Marlington, the victory was the 23rd in a row for them, bringing their record up to 24-2.

Beaumont School does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Marlington, they will challenge Holy Name at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
