The Waldron Mohawks will venture away from home to face off against the Cambridge City Lincoln Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Waldron is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
Waldron blew Morristown out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday Morristown got their revenge. The Mohawks fell just short of the Yellow Jackets by a score of 7-5.

Waldron saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was J.D. Smith, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Smith has become a key player for the Mohawks: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 3-9 otherwise.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Cambridge City Lincoln made sure to put some runs up on the board against Non Varsity Opponent on Thursday. The Golden Eagles were the clear victors by a 13-7 margin over Non Varsity Opponent. The Golden Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.
Carson Hawk was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and five unearned) runs off four hits. Hawk was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and two doubles. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Jack Patton was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaxyn Hunt, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Cambridge City Lincoln kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. They are 4-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Cambridge City Lincoln has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Waldron, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Waldron has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Cambridge City Lincoln struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.1 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Waldron might still be hurting after the 11-4 defeat they got from Cambridge City Lincoln when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Can the Mohawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
