Baseball Recap: Alamogordo Comes Up Short

Alamogordo extended their losing streak to six on Friday, dropping them down to 6-10. They took a 10-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Organ Mountain Knights. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-0 on Wednesday.

Aiden McGinnis was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs. Alamogordo is 4-1 when McGinnis posts two or more runs, but 2-9 otherwise. Aiden Tupper was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

As for Organ Mountain, they pushed their record up to 10-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games.

On Organ Mountain's side, Osvaldo Arras was a standout: he got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Venegas, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Organ Mountain beat Alamogordo by a score of 4-3 later that day.
