Softball Recap: Pelion's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Friday

It was a good run, but Pelion unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Ninety Six Wildcats by a score of 9-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 18-2 back in March.

Savanna Padgett made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Alexia Hansen, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Pelion's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Ninety Six, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pelion will face off against Saluda at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least ten runs in their last four matches. As for Ninety Six, they will head out on the road to challenge Batesburg-Leesville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.55 runs per game on average), something the Wildcats will no doubt try to take advantage of.
