Basketball Recap: Liberty County Skates Past Cottondale with Ease

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Liberty County). They simply couldn't be stopped on Tuesday as they easily beat the Cottondale Hornets 52-20. The Bulldogs have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hornets, too.

Leading Liberty County to victory were Emmie Peddie and Kaylee Sexton. Peddie posted 17 points, while Sexton earned 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Haven Davis, who had seven points.

Cottondale's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Piper Sill, who posted six points. Another player making a difference was Jaliya Reynolds, who put up five points.

The victory got Liberty County back to even at 2-2. As for Cottondale, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Altha the next time they take the court. Liberty County will host Altha at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while Cottondale will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
