Softball Game Preview: Hudson Explorers vs. North Royalton Bears

Hudson is 2-8 against North Royalton since April of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Explorers will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Bears at 5:00 p.m.

Hudson fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Solon on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Comets by a score of 8-7.

Hudson saw nine different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eva Masiella, who scored a run while going 1-for-5.

Meanwhile, North Royalton strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Portland Christian 17-1. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Bears this season.

North Royalton's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Hudson, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.
