Volleyball Recap: Columbus North Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Southport, Columbus North was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Bloomington South Panthers as they made off with a 3-0 victory.

Columbus North not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Bloomington South between 17 and 18 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-18, 25-17, 25-18.

Yoki Murabayashi was the offensive standout of the match as he had nine digs and four aces. Those four aces gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ramu Alagappan, who had 11 assists and two aces.

They weren't the only good server: Columbus North was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in three consecutive games.

Columbus North's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-17. As for Bloomington South, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.

Columbus North wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Madison on the 8th. As for Bloomington South, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Columbus East on the 10th.
