Volleyball Recap: Decatur Community Takes a Loss

Decatur Community was the 2-0 winner over Goodland when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Red Devils took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cowboys on Tuesday.

While Decatur Community ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-20.

Brylee Minnick paced Decatur Community's offense, picking up six kills. Minnick got some help from Lauren May and her eight assists.

Decatur Community now has a losing record of 13-14. As for Goodland, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-5 record this season.

Decatur Community will take on Dighton on Saturday. The last four games the Hornets have played have been within one set, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Goodland, they will challenge Colby at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
