Baseball Game Preview: Freedom Area Bulldogs vs. Northgate Flames

For the second straight game, Freedom Area will face off against Northgate. Freedom Area will host Northgate at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Freedom Area's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They blew past Northgate 14-0. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Flames recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Zach Kuntz made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mason O'Donnell, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Tommy Ward, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Northgate's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Freedom Area, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
