Basketball Recap: Allen Starts Season with Win Against Dallas Jesuit

Allen had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Dallas Jesuit Rangers as they made off with a 73-53 victory. With the Eagles ahead 46-23 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.

Nehemiah Lawrence had an outrageously good game as he shot 60% from the field to rack up 24 points in addition to seven rebounds and six steals. Those seven boards gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cadarian Urune-Williams, who posted 15 points and four steals.

Coming up, Allen won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Antonian Prep at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Eagles will need to watch out since the Apaches have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Dallas Jesuit, they will take on Coppell at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
