It was a good run, but Hillcrest unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 64-55 to the Palm Desert Aztecs.

Palm Desert's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jake Brande, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 boards. Brande is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Paul Dreisbach, who went 6 of 8 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points.

Hillcrest's defeat dropped their record down to 15-3. As for Palm Desert, their victory was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-5.

Hillcrest will take on Arrowhead Christian in a tournament on Monday. One thing working in Hillcrest's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four games. As for Palm Desert, they will head out to square off against Yucaipa at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Yucaipa will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Palm Desert surely won't give up without a fight.
